The Summer winds
Blow heavy
Blow hot
Levy of desert living
Desert life.
Not for water
Blowing dust
But for knowing
Ancient beaches
Sands of time --
Passing reach
History's arm.



The summer winds blow by

heavy and hot.

My wild hair
is whipping my cheeks, but
       I don't care.

I am leaning out of the window
to catch the sun
on my skin
smelling wonderful.

And if I close my eyes,
                                   I see
red earth, red sky,
     and the end of the world
where it all falls away
into                          the clouds.


Summer holidays
and I feel like going on a road trip.
