when I met you,
I raised my barriers,
shored up my defenses,
tended the fences
that protect
me

but you passed
through all of my walls
as easily as wind
through open
windows

and kissed me

now
I’m yours

forever
Inspired by a conversation with my friend =arkansawyer about Anam Cara - soul friends. I suggested he write about it, but he asked me to, so between his ideas and my poem, it's a collaboration.

I love the poem and the concept. It makes me want to write something about it too. Maybe I will try : )

I like this concept of Soul Friends/Anam Cara. It really does seem like that, on the rarest occasions-- I think your piece captures and explores the idea elegantly.

Thanks, Jamie. I find it to be a fascinating concept that certain people are "meant" to enter our lives at certain times, and I have met people with whom I hit it off so quickly and easily, it was as if we'd always known each other. I think I'm going to have to explore this further.

Definitely, it's absolutely fascinating.
I think I may explore it eventually too.

I like how your title works on one level at the beginning of the poem, and on a whole other level at the end. Beautifully expressed. :aww:
