our bodies
writhed in
a month-long
wet dream

from which
we awoke

suddenly

and with
regret

The inferno of passion?

A month-long wet dream is a daunting prospect.

Some might awake with a feeling of relief at have inf survived such an ordeal?

I tried to leave the ending open to interpretation - regret that it's over or regret that it happened?

Thee could be whole worlds of regret between these protagonists.

They need not be regretting the same things.

I wonder if it's not true that the fewer words you use, the more ambiguous those words become.

That would a very good reason for economy?

I think the tone, subject and structure of this piece are very adeptly aligned. Especially the alternating length of the last three strophes.

I do. I often find reading your pieces very constructive: I get some great ideas for my own.
