Literature Text
your mouth burns mine,
stringent as Isaiah’s coals,
dropping new truths on my tongue
to slide down my throat
and explode in my belly,
blasphemies that reveal windows
into the domains of unknown gods,
opening doors into strange heavens
I long to enter despite the knowledge
of my coming
damnation
stringent as Isaiah’s coals,
dropping new truths on my tongue
to slide down my throat
and explode in my belly,
blasphemies that reveal windows
into the domains of unknown gods,
opening doors into strange heavens
I long to enter despite the knowledge
of my coming
damnation

A surprising touch of old time religion.
The lacing of blasphemous irony gives it a satisfying edge.
