Literature Text

your mouth burns mine,
   stringent as Isaiah’s coals,
dropping new truths on my tongue
        to slide down my throat
          and explode in my belly,
   blasphemies that reveal windows
into the domains of unknown gods,
opening doors into strange heavens
I long to enter despite the knowledge
            of my coming
                    damnation
Many thanks to my dear friend *hamletspants for his patience and help as I struggled with the revisions on this poem. Thanks, hp.

A surprising touch of old time religion.

The lacing of blasphemous irony gives it a satisfying edge. :D
